Featuring songs from his first full length album, Mr. PIXIE brings you an original theatrical event for one night only! "The Mythical Bright Side" is a soul-searching concept album with music that calls to mind Elton John and Portishead. It tells the story of a false prophet's journey from heartache toward an unconventional kind of transcendence. Come experience this tale as it is realized live in concert by the artist that The Dallas Voice named 2014's Best Actor in a Local Musical. "An Evening With Mr. PIXIE" promises to be a fun, mysterious, and thought-provoking concert from one of Dallas' most passionate performers.
Mr. PIXIE will be performing original incidental music for H4PJ's production of Bent. Written by Martin Sherman and directed by Daniel Scott Cates at the Cathedral of Hope's Interfaith Peace Chapel.
April 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2014 at 8pm.
Read the Theater Jones review of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch":
"Mr. Pixie keeps us engaged with him throughout the nearly two hours in an intermissionless show. He has the perfect amount of androgyny, and the vocal chops and the emotional clarity to pull off gut-wrenching songs like 'Wicked Little Town' and the eerily beautiful poetry of 'The Origin of Love.'"
Winner of the Dallas Voice Reader's Choice Award 2014:
Best Musical
Best Actor in a Musical - Mr. PIXIE
Best Local Director - Sean McGuire
